Climbing on the bookcase

HG has today achieved one of her longtime ambitions today - she pulled herself up to her favourite bookcase and discovered that she is finally tall enough to reach for some of her "favourite" books from Ima's sefarim collection, in particular the Even Shoshan Concordance.

She pulled herself up by the second lowest shelf, and then stepped up on the bottom shelf to get a better view, every so often turning to glance at Ima with an expression of triumph.

Next, after a brief break playing with her books and toys on the floor, she crawled to the opposite side of the living room, pulled herself up to a stand on the toy box, cruised from there to the arm of the sofa, another higher piece of furniture she is now tall enough to grasp, then along the sofa seat, to a low plastic stool, and on to a wooden kitchen stool, this time one high enough for adults to sit on. As she stood holding on to it she realised that she is now strong enough to push it along and her face lit up with glee, as she used it as a makeshift push along toy, shoving it forward as she walked along behind it. One might even say she glowed...

HG has been working on other skills besides walking though. Over the last week she has also started sporadically to "kiss". She puts her lips close to Ima's cheek and smiles. She did this to her babysitter on Shabbat and tried it with Abba's beard last night.

Leiah and Jason,

Hannah Geitel is absolutely precious!

She has gotten so grown up, in addition to getting into everything!

Please give her hugs and kisses from us.

I have a feeling that you both will soon need roller skates to keep up with her!
